Action-Sealtite Ltd is very proud to be working in partnership with the BLOODHOUND SSC team to support Richard Nobel OBE on this groundbreaking project.

The BLOODHOUND Super Sonic Car project is an engineering adventure aimed to developing the ultimate land speed record car on four wheels, breaking the 1,000mph barrier. This iconic project is not just about speed and breaking records though; it’s about inspiring the next generation to pursue careers in engineering, science, mathematics and technology by demonstrating how they can harness their knowledge and skill sets to achieve the seemingly impossible.

Wing Commander Andy Green, who set the current record of 763mph at the controls of ThrustSSC in 1997, will be driving the 12.8m long, 6,422kg (fuelled), jet and rocket-powered vehicle. Its 900mm diameter wheels will spin over 10,000rpm, generating 50,000 radial g at the rim. The car will accelerate from 0 – 1,050mph in 40 seconds. At this speed, Andy Green will be covering a distance equivalent to over four football pitches every second, or 50m in the blink of an eye!
